Ms. Sandra did say that we are going to pass on graduation this year and I am really glad in one way but in another way it makes me feel kinda sick to not do it. It is a real draw for our Learning Center. But I have an almost complete turnover in students this year. It happen in day care unlike public school the parents can bring kids as late as they want or take them out, change schools. etc. It makes it where the children do not get the full benefit of the school year classes. Oh well I can't change that but it was very disappointing to find on my evaluations forms that the children I have now are very much behind what is normal for my class. I wonder why the other class teachers and or mothers have not taught them more. The school system expect them to know a lot more a lot younger than they use to.
Sorry guys! I really love to teach children and it is kind of a soap box for me when parents don't try to teach their children. I told my kids at school yesterday that everything has to be learned. We are born knowing how to cry and to suck. Cry to make our needs met and suck to nourish our bodies. All else we have to learn.

Idol fans. Who is your favorite this year. I m having a hard time settling on anyone. I can't help but root for James Durbin with his aspbergers and turrets he really has to push through. You know asbergers is high functioning Autism so I know a little about that because of Jaxon. But to be honest his style is way too wild for me. I guess my least favorites are Jacob, Stefano and Haley.
For those of you who do not watch Dancing with the Stars. Pia from Idol is going to sing while Mark Ballast dances on the Tuesday Night results show this coming week. So if you like her and was upset about her being voted off you might want to watch.
I will be off work on Friday and I am going to get the boys on Sunday instead of Saturday so with 2 days together I pray I get some things done in my house.
Glenda. I can't remember if I even told you how much I like my clock. I have not felt like being on the computer much so I have mostly just read the other posts but I hung it up a nail that was already on the wall. it is really pretty and bright and the numbers are really easy read (A BIG plus for me) Anyway I hope maybe to decorate a little better with something beside it other than a basket of orange flowers.
How about that good looking little boy by the clock!Love the vacuum, too and it allowed me to take the one Norma gave me to work!! Which is also wonderful because I have started back vacuuming my carpet there better, too.

I absolutely agree with you about children MUST learn everything. In the classes I took to teach Sunday School we also learned that most habits that have to do with learning or self control is set in before age 5. That is why it is so important to encourage gifts and try to set in a moral base at an early age. At our church it started in the nursery but it is most important for parents to participate since they usually spend the most tie with the children..we know a care giver finds it almost impossible to say potty train or wean a child if the parent refuses to also be on board.

On American Idol, Casey is my favorite singer .. next is James, although he rocks a little more than is my usual choice. Not a fan of Scottie or Lauren. Hailee is just ok, sometimes..Not a big fan of Jacob, he is too put on and dramatic for my taste. I do not watch Dancing With The Stars...the time it comes on conflicts with other shows we watch.
ReplyDeleteThey put in cameras in Perry's workplace last year. He hates it but there are dead spots that the camera does not reach...he says it is very creepy to know that they are constantly watching you. They had trouble with theft but claimed it was to keep employees safe...don't you hate it when they absolutely lie about their intentions...Perry is shocked. He got a .49 an hour raise yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYes it helps so much if the parents if nothing else show interest in what we are doing at school. I meant to talk to Sandra and ask if I should talk to one of my students Mom. He is 5 and they expect so much more from the kids now than they use to. He is going to be behind without knowing recognition of his letters.
ReplyDeleteOn American Idol - I like Casey at times but not always. I definately don't always like his song choice. I agree about Jacob. Ireally don't enjoy hearing him song at all. But I must admit I like hearing the 2 country singers since it is more to my style than the rock. But I really believe James can sing and as I said I admire him pushing through his disabilities but again I don't like most of the songs he sings.
We are definately getting the cameras. They worked on them Thursday and Norma said they were working on them Friday as well. Sooo I guess I must adapt. It will probably make me a better teacher as I won't be able to gripe so much. I will have to be more tolerant and work on my attitude when they get out of control. Oh me!!!!
Ptraise God on Perry's raise!!! We are praying for Dave a sustancial (SP) raise as well. I could use one too. God is a miracle God so it could happen.
