Jennifer sang the song "I Claim The Blood" at Sunday School. It has been so long since I heard it. It really ministered to my spirit. I appreciate you stepping on out and singing it even though you felt you did not have the verses down. I really enjoyed it. I am claiming those blood stains in my life and in my family.
Here are the lyrics as posted on a web site.
1. I have a source of strength when I am weak,
that takes me through when life is pressing me,
I have a source of power from above,
I'm covered over by a shield of love.
2. I do not know how others make it through,
who do not go to Calvary as I do,
for there's a healing, cleansing stream that flows,
with peace that only His redeemed can know.
Chorus: I claim the blood Jesus shed on Calvary,
those precious blood stains were made there just for me,
for all my sin, my sickness and my pain,
when I need healing, I claim those precious blood stains.
I truly do not know how others make it without the hope, the comfort, the strength that come from knowing God is there. When I need healing, I claim those precious blood stains. Praise God.
Many times I have yielded to those comforting arm of love when my life was skidding out of control and I saw no hope. But GOD! Therein lies hope and comfort. I could feel His love begin to soothe and help me make it through. I love you, Father!!
I pray that all may know that comfort, peace and strength that comes from that great source!! OUR GOD!
Zita,
ReplyDeleteI have never heard that song but those are killer lyrics.
I was paging though one of my journals, and found the lyrics on a folded sheet of notebook paper. I only sang it once, and it was a long time ago. I'd have never made it through the song without Kathy's help with the verses. I got up there and completely forgot the tune to them.
ReplyDeleteI love the song and your blog gives me chills, Zita. truly how do people survive without Jesus
ReplyDeleteAwesome lyrics recorded by the Hemphills. I am sure one of them wrote it, too
