I read this in my Life Application Bible tonight:
"Suffering causes us to trust God for who He is, not what He does."
Maybe we who are questioning our situations so much might read in Job where God challenges Job: Chapters 38-41. God really lays it out straight to Job. Finally in chapter 40 vs 1 He (God) says
"Do you still want to argue with the almighty. ....Do you have the answers?"
Life Application Note: Throughout his time of suffering, Job longed to plead his innocence before God. Here God appeared...gave opportunity. But Job decided to remain quiet...it was no longer necessary for him to speak. God had shown Job that, as a limited human... , he had neither the ability to judge the God who created the universe ....God's actions do not depend on ours. He will do what He knows is best, regardless of what we think is fair. It is important to note, however, that God came to Job, demonstrating His love and care for him. (End quote)
So for whatever reason we pass through these times of suffering we can rest assured that God is with us and it has a purpose. If we lean on Him that purpose will come to fruition and bring forth the needed end results.
And as our Matriarchs were fond of telling us we do PASS through. The other side really does come.
Job said 42:5
"I had only heard about You before, but now I have seen You with my eyes."
Zita, all you have said is very uplifting...I know it is all true but it is still miserable to be in the pitts..I feel lower than the valley.
ReplyDeleteZita this scripture speaks to me..It makes things personal..
ReplyDelete"Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." 1 Timothy 4:16 NIV
It makes it not preaching at others but making you aware that you need to watch YOURSELF..in this day and age Christian values are so muddied..anything goes..we need to get in the word and do what IT says.!!!
This is like a Bible study..I miss church so much.
Lord, let the things I am going thru in my life bring forth the results YOU expected and make these sufferings which are nothing compared to your sacrifice accomplish you will in my life
ReplyDeletegood study..Zita & Glenda
I enjoy your comments. I was flipping through the Bible and this just stuck out to me. While suffering through difficult trials is so hard, God does promise that all will work to good. That trials bring forth fruit in us and in others around us. We live in this world and we will have problems but thankfully He is always present to see us through. Count it all joy.....
